'High School Musical 3's Matt Prokop Back with a 'Furry Vengeance' and 'Medium'

After last month's report of 19-year-old High School Musical 3 star Matt Prokop being rushed to the ICU, he has fully recovered and is returning with a vengeance. A Furry Vengeance. The actor has landed a role in another family comedy coming next year, putting him alongside veterans Brendan Fraser and Brooke Shields.

Talking to the Victoria Advocate, Matt Prokop revealed that his role in the movie slightly mirrors his real life. The story of the film is set in the Oregon wilderness where local wildlife threatens the plans of a real estate developer. Playing Tyler, the agent's sarcastic son, was a great experience for the budding actor.

'Ghost Whisperer' Might Crossover to 'Medium'

Now that Medium is under CBS territory and on its Friday-night slate next season, the idea of having a crossover with Ghost Whisperer doesn't seem too far fetched. Crossovers are a bit dangerous to tread especially when shows don't have any common ground but since both series have themes with supernatural elements, the network might just be able to pull this one off.

CBS Announces Fall Premiere Dates

Today CBS announced when its fall shows will premiere, and many of the dates are easy to remember because CBS is essentially launching all of its shows in a single week. From Monday, September 21 to Sunday, September 27, CBS will premiere all but two of its shows.

Those exceptions include the newest season of Survivor, which premieres one week early to allow a two-hour premiere on Thursday. September 17, and the series premiere of Three Rivers starring Moonlight's Alex O'Loughlin which comes Sunday, October 4, one week late to allow The Amazing Race to have a two-hour premiere.

As Medium returns tonight on NBC, Allison (Patricia Arquette) dreams about and eventually meets a quirky bank teller named Mrs. Boddicker who predicted a recent robbery at the bank she works for. Elsewhere, Joe's (Jake Weber) new job in San Diego is understandably putting a strain on the family and it's up to Alison to learn to cope in his absence.

On the last episode of the supernatural drama, Cynthia Keener (Anjelica Houston) returned and asked Allison for help to find a missing friend of hers. She was also asked by a real estate mogul to help find his missing wife. In the meantime, Joe struggled with the decision when offered a position that required a move to San Diego, but eventually accepted the offer.

Continuing in this exciting week of Fall schedules, CBS revealed its lineup today, and while many shows remain fixed, there are some big moves.?? The Mentalist, this past season's top new show, will get the coveted post-CSI timeslot Thursdays at 10pm.

And one day after NBC officially cancelled Medium, CBS scooped it up and Patricia Arquette will now see ghosts right after Jennifer Love Hewitt does the same thing on Ghost Whisperer.

'Medium' Cancelled by NBC; CBS Responds

Adding to the list of shows suffering from network turmoil is the Patricia Arquette supernatural drama Medium, which seems to be getting a lot of attention now that two companies are fighting for it. The CBS TV-produced series was cancelled by NBC, and the former just can't let go of the issue.

NBC co-chairman Ben Silverman commented on the matter, which revolves around Medium and fellow canned series My Name is Earl. He said that both were "an aging franchise, without a single fan letter, with no passion." Hearing that, CBS Studios released a reply that was far from sympathetic.

After its initial announcement last month about the shows it would pick up, today NBC revealed its official 2009-2010 schedule and also made several official cancellations.

My Name is Earl and Medium are both gone, though there are possibilities that both shows could be picked up by rival networks.?? For My Name is Earl, it's especially difficult since the season ended with a cliffhanger.

NBC Unveils Fall Line-up, Six New Shows Ordered, No Word on 'Chuck'

NBC unveiled their slate of programs for the 2009-2010 season this morning. Six new pilots were picked up (two comedies, four dramas). NBC failed to concoct an actual day-by-day schedule for the Fall - they are expected to release that schedule within a couple of weeks. Not mentioned during NBC's announcement this morning were the likes of Chuck, Medium, My Name is Earl, Law & Order and Life. Some of those series could get picked up for mid-season. As of right now, the fall schedule looks filled to the brim, especially when you consider that Jay Leno's new show will be taking up five hours of prime-time per week. For Chuck fans, the wait continues, although the forecast isn't terribly bright. Shows picked up for next season include Parks and Recreation, Southland and Heroes. NBC has also ordered six more episodes of Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday for the Fall.

NBC Renews 'Medium'

If NBC is still unsure about the future of Chuck, the network recently added paranormal crime drama Medium to the list of shows it is renewing, although the renewal isn't for a full-season. Joining rookies Southland and Parks and Recreation and My Name is Earl, Medium will have at least a 13-episode run, but the number can go to as high as 18 or a full season.

Medium, which was renewed for its sixth season, has been a midseason show for three of its five seasons on NBC, and has steadily attracted a fair share of the ratings despite not producing the same buzz as its Monday companions Heroes and Chuck. Its debut run, for instance, reeled in an average of 13.9 million viewers. In 2005, meanwhile, lead Patricia Arquette, who plays research medium Allison DuBois on the show, won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, in addition to nominations for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a SAG award in 2007.

Allison DuBois may return to our TV screens earlier than expected. NBC has ordered three more scripts of the psychic drama Medium and has told the production staff of the series to be on call to kick things off earlier than usual.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the midseason drama typically joins NBC's schedule during the winter, but the production has been told to be ready to go on the air earlier than expected, which means the series might join the network's lineup sometime before the end of the year.

Blythe Danner Guest Stars on 'Medium'

After portraying Isabelle “Izzy” Huffstodt on the Showtime drama Huff, two-time Emmy winner Blythe Danner returns to the small screen to appear on the upcoming season of Medium. The drama, which is based on the experiences from self-proclaimed spiritual medium Allison DuBois, was one of the first series to be renewed by NBC back in April after its fourth season pulled in strong ratings.

According to TV Guide, Danner will play Sarah Leaming, the mother of an MIA nurse, whose chronically ill stepdaughter is subjected to "unconventional" treatment.
