Will Ferrell and Bear Grylls Join Forces for 'Man vs. Wild'

Is extreme adventure really harder on the stomach than comedy? That's what Will Ferrell and Bear Grylls are going to prove as Man vs. Wild returns on the Discovery Channel on Tuesday, June 2. The special episode is tied to Universal Pictures' upcoming comedy adventure Land of the Lost, which stars Ferrell and hits movie theaters on June 5.

In this first joint extreme adventure special, Grylls guides Ferrell through the paces of real life survival in the ice-bound mountain and glacier ranges in the far north of Sweden. As usual, Grylls is armed with only the most basic survival equipment, while Ferrell is equipped with his infectious sense of humor.

Discovery Channel addicts would be glad to know that Man vs. Wild will be returning to the tube at 10pm tonight, with spanking new episodes that will surely keep you at the edge of your seat in excitement. The show will continue to follow outdoor survival guru Bear Grylls as he battles it out with the wild, while learning a thing or two about the natural environment. In fact, Grylls says that going on an adventure is making the most out of one’s situation.

"Survival can be summed up in three words - never give up. That's the heart of it really. Just keep trying," Grylls told BBC. "It's about using what's around you, being inventive with it and thinking your way round situations - whether it's using the skin of a deer to sleep under, the carcass of a camel to shelter from a sandstorm or your shoelaces to help you climb a tree."
