'Las Vegas' Star Finds Her Way to 'Easy Money'

The Las Vegas life made it big for Marsha Thomason, as the series star was cast on the CW's new drama-comedy, Easy Money. The show revolves around a family of loan sharks, as well as their notorious exploits dealing with threats of blackmail and violence.

Marsha Thomason has been slated to play the romantic interest of Jeff Hephner's character, Morgan Buffkin. He is the prodigal son of the family, and though good with the line of work, he has been wishing to make his family's shady business legitimate. Though Hephner obtained a significant role, Easy Money focuses more on Bobette Buffkin, the domineering matriarch of the family who heads the company.

NBC Orders 'Knight Rider' Series, Taps 'Las Vegas' Creator

Seeing that old shows are getting more appealing, NBC has given the remake of Knight Rider a series order. The show has been given a test drive as a two-hour made-for-television movie in February, which resulted to a Sunday night primetime victory for the network. As expected, high ratings have made everyone at the network rooting for more K.I.T.T. and company.

Serving as showrunner and executive producer for the new Knight Rider series is Gary Scott Thompson, who most recently led NBC's Las Vegas. Producer Universal Media Studios has also made a two-year overall deal with the scribe, who is also credited for Fast and the Furious. Thompson will work alongside exec producers Doug Liman and Dave Bartis, as well as scribe-producer Dave Andron, who wrote the pilot.

'Las Vegas' Fans Still Campaigning Hard Despite Bleak Outlook

Although it's looking more and more unlikely that NBC will change their minds about canceling Las Vegas, fans of the show are still fighting hard to get it back on the air. On Monday, March 10, lasvegas-theseries.com, the fan site that's leading a major save-the-show campaign, sent its third shipment of baby booties to NBC, with the boxes scheduled to arrive tomorrow. So far, the site has sent 121 cases cpntaining 5,904 baby booties.

For those who are unfamiliar with the campaign, fans are being asked to send booties because the last episode of Las Vegas that NBC decided to air ended with a big cliffhanger concerning Delinda's (Molly Sims) pregnancy. In addition, the baby booties are not costly, easy to ship and can be donated to charity.

Things Not Looking Good for 'Las Vegas'

Since news broke out that NBC has brought down the axe on the dramedy Las Vegas, fans have been busy taking part in campaigns aiming to save the show. Despite their continued efforts, however, it seems the network is already steadfast with its decision to cancel the series.

According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, things aren't looking good for Las Vegas, as the show's massive and elaborate sets are still being brought down. Additionally, the network is now conducting a “fire sale,” wherein goods are sold at extremely discounted prices, for any props.

Las Vegas: Fans Campaign for Story Resolution

All bets are off for NBC's Las Vegas as the network decided to cancel the series in order to make way for newcomers in the coming year.

While many fans have been greatly disappointed with Las Vegas since James Caan left the show last year, some felt that casting Tom Selleck breathed new life into the series that follows a team of people working in the fictional Montecito Resort and Casino in Sin City. Whatever the case may be, the 7 million viewers who tuned in each week clearly weren't enough to please execs at NBC. The network has nixed the idea of resuming production of the drama despite the fact that its last episode "Three Weddings and a Funeral," which aired February 15, ended with a "to be continued" cliffhanger.

'Las Vegas' 100th Episode Preview

Fergie, properly known as Stacy Ferguson, was a former member of the Black Eyed Peas, but has found incredible fame recently as a solo artist. Josh Duhamel has gained most of his notoriety as the lead and female favorite Danny McCoy on Las Vegas. Duhamel got his start in the soap opera world on All My Children, even earning some Daytime Emmy nominees. Fergie has steadily risen into the realm of pop icon over the past couple of years thanks to hit songs “My Humps” and “London Bridge,” not to mention her scantily clad public and on stage appearances.

The Writers Guild of America strike is at the center of all major entertainment news vehicles, primarily because it has disrupted work on television shows, be they old or new, high-rated or low-rated, even causing some to halt production. Some networks, however, have run into the fortunate luck of having several scripts at hand for some of their other shows, scripts that will last them until January. One of these shows is NBC's Las Vegas.

According to USA Today, the series released their 19th script yesterday, and if the cast continues to show up for production (fans, keep your fingers crossed), then NBC has little to worry about until early next year.

Camille Guaty Thought her 'Las Vegas' Character was Gay

Camille Guaty, one of the new faces on NBC's Las Vegas, knew so little about her character in the beginning that she actually thought she would be playing someone of the third sex.

“In the beginning, I thought they were going to make my character gay,” Guaty told Starry Constellation Magazine. “I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I'm a lesbian, let's find out.' We only know the character development as the scripts come in… You never know, I really thought they might have gone that route, but they didn't go that route.”

When Las Vegas returned to the small screen last month, viewers said goodbye to veteran actor James Caan and welcomed Emmy award winner Tom Selleck as the show's latest male lead. For costar Josh Duhamel, who plays Danny McCoy, Selleck's presence has certainly provided a new dynamic on the show, given the two actors very different acting styles and personalities.

“They both have a big stature. Jimmy is one of the all-time [tough guys] who likes to settle things with his fists. Selleck is a little more reserved,” Duhamel told the Rocky Mountain News, adding that although they “really miss Jimmy… Selleck has been a welcome addition, and the shows are getting better and better."

Gary Scott Thompson is a man who knows how to please the crowds. He wrote the high-octane action film The Fast and the Furious, which spun off two sequels. He also created the NBC drama Las Vegas, which enters its fifth season tonight at 9pm. Thompson has the eye for what people want to see: beautiful people like Josh Duhamel and Molly Sims put in dangerous and wildly extravagant situations. Season 4 ended with several cliffhangers, including a bomb exploding in the casino and the former owner being eaten by a giant squid. James Caan, who played Ed Deline, former head of security and president of operations of the Montecito Group, will no longer be a series regular on the NBC drama since he has moved on to pursue his movie career.

According to TV.com, actor Tom Selleck will most likely join the action-packed drama series, although his inclusion is still currently under discussions with producers. This is actually Selleck’s first regular project on a drama series since his program Magnum P.I. ended in 1988.

Josh Duhamel, cast member on the series Las Vegas, is now deemed as a private dancer, at least only for his girlfriend Stacy Ferguson, also known as Fergie of the music group The Black Eyed Peas.

We reported in February that the couple keeps their relationship fiery by singing karaoke love songs to one another. Fergie said, “He has a karaoke machine... It’s been four wonderful seasons for Las Vegas and now, its about to end, at least just temporarily. This Friday, NBC will showcase “Heroes,” the last installment of the fourth season of Las Vegas. Fortunately, the network has renewed its fast-phased drama series for another season. The 17th episode of season four is said to be very unpredictable and entails four massive cliffhangers. Aside from the sexy drama plot and the action-filled adventure, the season finale is said to contain a shocking pregnancy, a kidnapping, a bombing and at least one death.
