'Hell's Kitchen' Star in Town for Other Series

Just in time for Kitchen Nightmares' third season, infamous chef and Hell's Kitchen mainstay Gordon Ramsay is in South Florida to make over three restaurants. First on the list of the sharp-tongued Brit and his Los Angeles-based production company is Le Bistro in Lighthouse Point. This will be followed by Anna Vincenzo's Ristorante Italiano in Boca Raton and Fleming: A Taste of Denmark in Miami.

Kitchen Nightmares, now on its third season, is Ramsay's other show apart from Hell's Kitchen, which itself recently revealed its 16 new contestants. On the show, Ramsay tries to turn around the future of an ailing restaurant using his culinary and management skills.

As part of Gordon Ramsay's new deal with FOX, which includes an agreement to produce two more installments of Hell's Kitchen, another season of Kitchen Nightmares and a yet-to-be determined series, the network is planning a live special starring the renowned chef. The said program hopes to urge viewer to make a three-course homemade meal as Ramsay demonstrates how to make dinner.

"It has been picked up, and I can't wait for it to go live," Ramsay said. "My frustration is that most cooking shows don't really cook ... their ingredients are prepped earlier, that's not cooking ... it's nice to show the journey from live ingredient to [finished meal]."

Gordon Ramsay does his best in Connecticut, trying to save Sabatiello's, an Italian restaurant that's in way over its head. On the latest Kitchen Nightmares, it's going to be difficult to see who's the nastiest: Ramsay or the eatery owner.

Sabatiello's has been in business for about three years, and is found in the heart of Stamford. Owned by the infamous Sammy, the restaurant is on the brink of bankruptcy and is stuck in over a million dollars of debt. One of the problems that Sammy claims to encounter is his staff and his customers. However, his crew has some complaints regarding him as well.

Kitchen Nightmares: Ramsay Deals with Trobiano Trails

Last week on FOX’s Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsay headed to Trobiano’s restaurant in the hopes that he might be able to save the establishment. Spearheading the $500,000 indebted restaurant is executive chef Anthony, who is obliviously proud of himself. His restaurant serves dinner at 4:30pm, the walls are painted an ugly shade of beige and they serve chopped salad. Ramsay described his first order as “ghastly,” causing Anthony to become “furious.”

When Ramsay calmed down a bit, he aired his comments, saying, “One thing I noticed is the size of the portions. The food is hideous. For a chef to let go of his kitchen like this, shows he doesn’t care.”

Kitchen Nightmares: Ramsay Deals with Puffins and Communication Issues

Last week, an outroar broke out when Kitchen Nightmares master chef Gordon Ramsay appeared in Channel 4’s The F Word, where he regularly hosts and prepares three-course meals for guests. In one recent episode, he was featured eating puffins on the show. A particular scene showed Ramsay’s companion breaking the necks of four puffins and skinning them, and later taking out the hearts which will serve as a special Icelandic delicacy. Shortly thereafter, complaints started filing in saying that “eating the puffins was cruel, consuming their fresh hearts was offensive and that puffins were a species under threat,” the Press Association reports.

Nonetheless, the network replied, saying that “the birds were killed in a manner as to inflict minimal suffering and emphasized the show aired a warning shortly before the graphic scene was shown,” UPI reports.

FOX Loves Having 'Nightmares,' Decides to Keep 'Hell's Kitchen'

Last week, we saw the premiere of the second season of Kitchen Nightmares, where Chef Gordon Ramsay returned to save several failing restaurants from biting the dust. In fact, the beginning of the season saw him revisiting the kitchens of six restaurants which he managed to save from extinction.

The two-hour season premiere titled “Revisited: Gordon Returns” reeled in some impressive ratings, as it managed to lead the pack and land in the top spot among the 18-49 demographic, garnering a rating of 2.6. Because of the successful second season launch, the network has decided to keep Gordon Ramsay for a couple of years to come.

It's been a rough year so far for Gordon Ramsay.

He's been embroiled in controversy around his show Kitchen Nightmares, his former mentor Marco Pierre White threatened to sue him for statements Ramsay made in his book, his own brother was arrested and jailed on drug charges in Indonesia, and his London restaurants took a critical hit in an influential guide.

There is, however, some good news on the horizon for Ramsay, possibly delivering him out of the Kitchen Nightmares of recent months into a much better place.

Long before Kitchen Nightmares, back when Gordon Ramsay was a young chef, and wanted to excel in his career, he went to study French cuisine in Paris. But he didn't stay. Instead, he returned home to the U.K. to help elevate the globally-derided British food scene. While he hasn't been able to single-handedly bring them to the level of France – France still has 26 3-Michelin-starred restaurants to the U.K.'s 3 – he has helped contribute to the new food culture in Britain.

So what next? Time to go back to France. And feed them some British food.

Gordon Ramsay Out-Sworn on 'Kitchen Nightmares' Premiere

Gordon Ramsay has made a career out of being foul-mouthed. Of course, no one can deny his culinary expertise; even with the recent mild critical knocks some of his restaurant, he's still got three Michelin stars to his name, something only two other venues in the United Kingdom can also claim.

But let's face it – three Michelin stars and all the skills to pay all the bills in the world weren't what brought Chef Ramsay intercontinental television success. No, what separated him from the other talented food professionals are his temper and his way with expletives. His British show The F-Word is a cheeky nod to two things he's familiar with; food, and…well, the f-word.

On last week's premiere of Kitchen Nightmares, however, Ramsay might have met his foul-mouthed match in Peter Pelegrino, the manager of the restaurant at the heart of that episode. And, actually, not just his match; based on the footage that aired, Peter had the chef handily beat when it came to the bleeps.

Forgive the unavoidable pun: Kitchen Nightmares has the recipe for success.

Tonight's the American version of the series premieres on Fox at 9pm Eastern. Despite the controversy of the fraud allegations leveled this summer at Ramsay and the show, the show has been given the clear to continue, and so this evening, we'll have our first chance to see Ramsay take on not just the chef, as he does in Hell's Kitchen, but the whole restaurant.

For the premiere episode of Kitchen Nightmares, they've picked a place with some pretty perfect elements.

Fans of Gordon Ramsay's are eagerly awaiting the premiere of the American version of his program Kitchen Nightmares next Wednesday, September 19 at 9pm Eastern on Fox.

He's also just come off another successful run of Hell's Kitchen, and it was announced in late July that program was renewed for a fourth season, set to air next summer.

Unfortunately, as we've been reporting here on BuddyTV over this past summer, with a fraud case to fight, a brother in trouble with the law, a critical hit for one of his restaurants, and a very painful burn in a very private place, it looks like the anticipation for Kitchen Nightmares and his television career overall are just bright spots in what Ramsay is calling his most difficult professional and personal year yet.

And a couple of recent news items related to Ramsay make it seem like this trying year doesn't plan to let up on him just yet.

Renowned chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay has finally spoken up about a recent lawsuit targeting his new reality series, Kitchen Nightmares. He made his statements more than two weeks after a judge threw out the lawsuit and ordered Ramsay and the plaintiff, Martin Hyde, to enter arbitration.

“I would never-ever-ever dream of setting anything up,” Ramsay told TelevisionWeek last Friday. “I want to sleep at night. We were issued a writ because, God bless America, if the toilet paper is not thick enough and you come out with a rash on your ass [you'll get sued].”

Judge Throws Out 'Kitchen Nightmares' Lawsuit

Normally, the world of Gordon Ramsey revolves around food. He's a Michelin-starred chef and owner of several restaurants, and, of course, the voluble center of the Hell's Kitchen, which just completed its third season, and the restaurant makeover show, Kitchen Nightmares, which will make its American debut next month.

However, this summer, the law seemed to be nipping at food's heels as a major topic in his life. His former mentor was threatening a libel case, his brother was arrested on drug charges in Indonesia, and one of the participants in his Kitchen Nightmares program filed a lawsuit alleging fraud in the production of the program.

On one front, at least, his legal coast has recently become slightly clearer. On August 9, the judge considering the Kitchen Nightmares fraud lawsuit threw out the case.

As we reported last month, chef Marco Pierre White has been contemplating on filing a lawsuit against chef Gordon Ramsay, star of the reality show Hell’s Kitchen, for libel and “malicious falsehood.” Now, Ramsay is facing yet another legal dilemma brought up by Martin R. Hyde, a former manager of the Indian-American restaurant Dillons.

Ramsay, a 40-year old native of Johnstone, Scotland, is known as a celebrity chef. He is one of three chefs in the United Kingdom to maintain three Michelin Guide stars for his restaurant. He has earned numerous awards and recognitions and has even forayed in several documentaries and TV reality programs such as Boiling Point, Beyond Boiling Point, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen (UK), Hell's Kitchen (US), The F-Word, and Kitchen Nightmares.
