Megan Wants A Millionaire: Ryan Jenkins Charged with Murder

As of 3pm (PST) today, Ryan Jenkins has gone from forgettable VH1 reality TV contestant to the prime suspect in the murder of his wife Jasmine Fiore. Though Jenkins had previously been categorized only as a person of interest, a warrant for his arrest has now been issued.

In documents released by TMZ the former Megan Wants a Millionaire contestant was named as the sole suspect in Fiore's death, which the papers believe occurred on or about August 14th. Fiore's naked body was discovered naked and stuffed in a suitcase in Orange County last weekend. According to details announced today, Fiore's teeth and fingers had been removed before her body was dumped. There is a $10 million bail out on Jenkins and his wanted poster describes him as "armed and dangerous." Authorities believe he may be armed with a handgun.

VH1 Picked a Real Winner in Ryan Jenkins

Ah, the plot thickens. As we reported yesterday, Ryan Jenkins, a contestant on VH1's Megan Wants A Millionaire, is a suspect in the murder of his wife, Jasmine Fiore. But it would seem that Ryan's ties to VH1 go beyond being a finalist in the now indefinitely postponed Megan Wants A Millionaire, he is also supposedly the winner of the just finished filming I Love Money 3... a show that will certainly now never see the light of day. If the accusations against Jenkins are as true as they seem, and VH1 is acting, anyway.

According to TMZ, Ryan finished filming I Love Money 3 about a month ago in Mexico, and he walked away with the $250,000 prize. Producers of the show are not returning calls for confirmation, which is no surprise, seeing that VH1 has completely scrubbed their site of any evidence that connects them to Jenkins. Not only has the network canceled any future airings of Megan Wants a Millionaire, they've also removed all photos and links on their website to the show and made all previously aired videos unavailable on iTunes. After Myammee won the second season of VH1 reality show I Love Money last week, the notorious contestants sat down with each other for the reunion show last night, safe for a couple who reportedly had prior engagements.

As posted on the VH1 blog, there was a cacophony of things to check out behind the scenes during the reunion show, including the returning contestants and their antics. According to VH1, this year's affair was no doubt "lighter" compared to last season's reunion show.

Ice was eliminated on the last episode of I Love Money 2, but not without the attendant drama. Before dropping the bomb on Ice, Saaphyri held the "Void" stamp above It's check as she approached him, asked, "Don't you love me?" continuing with, "How much?" when It said yes. She then proceeded to eliminate Ice, who gave the rest of the contestants a hearty hug.

In the VH1 blog, Ice lamented that since she had been such a loyal person on I Love Money 2, she didn't see the blindside coming.

It doesn't matter that the premiere of I Love Money's second season is weeks away. The cast members have been revealed, and it's about time we find out a few things about them. However, we already do know of the existence of these people, since they've previously appeared on several VH1 reality shows anyway. It's just the way the world goes: around and around, like spin-off after spin-off after spin-off.

You'd think they won't come up with another season of I Love Money if you recall the crises in today's economy. But apparently, the network isn't too concerned about that. Unless you count recycling contestants to save up on casting expenditures as part of it. 'I Love Money' Brings in Ratings for VH1

Looks like VH1's formula of bringing together contestants from previous reality shows Flavor of Love, Rock of Love and I Love New York has worked. The season premiere of I Love Money, which aired last July 6, has helped place the network on top of the ratings.

Variety.com reports that the reality show, which pits contestants from its previous seasons against each other for a chance to win a quarter of a million dollars, got around 2.3 million people watching its premiere. Coupled with another VH1 reality program Brooke Knows Best—which got a little under two million viewers—the network was tops among younger viewers, although the title of cable ratings leader still went to USA Network.

It's almost impossible to find fault with I Love Money, VH1's latest foray into the world of pseudo-celebreality. This isn't to say it's not another deplorable, offensive entry in the genre – it totally is. But from the title alone, you know exactly what you're getting. Many contestants from Flavor of Love, I Love New York and Rock of Love have been accused of only appearing on the shows for fame. I Love Money embraces that shamelessness and indulges in the fact that these people just want fame and fortune.
