From G's to Gents: Preview of Season Finale

Two months, nine episodes, and 13 eliminated G’s later, the sophomore season of MTV reality show From G’s to Gents is down to its final three contestants, and the winner is set to be revealed on tonight’s finale. The Fonzworth Bentley-hosted affair premiered on February 10 and on the final episode, the three remaining contestants – Blue, Teddy Tee, and Mito – have a one-in-three shot at winning the $100,000 prize, the coveted membership in “The Gentlemen’s Club,” and more importantly, this season’s winner on From G’s to Gents.

During their stay in the posh mansion, the 16 wannabe gentlemen learn everything “from style and grace to etiquette and chivalry.” Hosted by the musician and fashion icon, From G’s to Gents defines a gentleman as “a courteous, gracious man with a strong sense of honor.”

Nowadays, there are a bunch of reality shows that attempt to entertain viewers through some crazy backstage drama, catfights, and a slap of raunchy make-out sessions. From G's to Gents, however, stands out from the rest, according to Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, who also serves as producer to the MTV series.

"I think this is going to be fabulous," Jamie Foxx told ET's Kevin Frazier. "Sometimes reality shows show how crazy it can get. This is going in reverse. This is going to help a lot of people. We are trying to make a show, make money, but when you see these guys go through the transformation and hear all these beautiful stories, you can't help but be affected by it."

The new MTV reality series From G’s to Gents is far more humanitarian than you might expect from the network that gave us a bisexual dating show. Contestants from rough backgrounds without much education in etiquette and manners are taught to appreciate the finer things in life from wine tasting to tying a tie. BuddyTV spoke to the show’s host and all-around gentleman Fonzworth Bentley about the new show. Bentley has a solid background as a classical musician and former intern for P. Diddy’s business empire.

Fonzworth spoke about how he became associated with From G’s to Gents, which is produced by Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, how he became interested in etiquette, and he even chastised me for my cheap excuse for not knowing how to tie a tie. From G's To Gents: Being a True Gentlemen, MTV-Style

“Of course, I've been arrested,” stressed a contestant on the trailer of the new MTV show From G's to Gents. The newest addition to the ridiculously wide array of reality shows the network has been spewing features 14 G's (gangsters) with less than refined exteriors and attempts to give them a thorough make-over to give them a new, clean shot at life and a lot of dough ($100,000) to help them jumpstart the transformation. The fun begins at Tuesday July 15 at 10pm ET/PT on MTV.

Despite initial rumors that it will follow an old MTV and VH1 modus operandi of shuttling personalities from one show to another, From G's to Gents will introduce 14 new people. According to a January casting call, the network looked for “passionate” hustlers who measure their self-worth by “the number of fights they've won, girls they've slept with, or weight of bling around their neck.”
