Fall TV Season Officially Starts with 'Heroes,' 'House,' and 'Dancing with the Stars'

Little by little the Fall TV season has been getting started with many of the CW and FOX shows premiering over the past two weeks. But tonight marks the official start of the season with nine season or series premieres tonight.

So set up multiple DVRs and get ready for the busiest night in TV.

CBS Announces Fall Premiere Dates

Today CBS announced when its fall shows will premiere, and many of the dates are easy to remember because CBS is essentially launching all of its shows in a single week. From Monday, September 21 to Sunday, September 27, CBS will premiere all but two of its shows.

Those exceptions include the newest season of Survivor, which premieres one week early to allow a two-hour premiere on Thursday. September 17, and the series premiere of Three Rivers starring Moonlight's Alex O'Loughlin which comes Sunday, October 4, one week late to allow The Amazing Race to have a two-hour premiere.

Accidentally on Purpose

Joining CBS' long string of successful procedurals is a comedy starring Jenna Elfman of Dharma and Greg fame as a single, 30-something film critic who finds herself "accidentally pregnant" after a one-night stand with a much younger guy. Elfman's Billie is the central character on CBS' Accidentally on Purpose, which is the most recent addition to CBS' Monday night lineup.

After the Knocked Up-like incident, Billie decides to keep the baby - and the guy. Complications arise when we find out that Billie just endured a humiliating breakup with her otherwise charming boss James, played by Grant Show, who's still not done trying to woo her back. Surely, expecting a child with boy toy Zack, played by Jon Foster, won't make things a walk in the park. As a recourse, Billie decides to make a special living arrangement with Zack: to live together platonically.
