Born on May 6, 1981 in Warsaw, Poland, Edyta Sliwinska is a professional dancer best known for holding the distinction of appearing on so far all the seasons of the reality show Dancing with the Stars. His husband and professional partner Alec Mazo is also a participant on Dancing with the Stars, even winning its debut season with Kelly Monaco.
Sliwinska first started taking dance lessons when she was eleven years old, Sliwinkska grew up to a work-class upbringing. Music is what motivated Sliwinska to pursue dancing, and pursue it, she has. She has been dancing with her partner and soon-to-be husband in numerous competitions across the nation. Her favorite dance is the Rumba. Among the many competitions where she came out the winner are the Emerald Ball Latin Championships, the 2001 International Grand Ball and the 2001 Holiday Ball.
Sliwinska has been a common face on the Dancing with the Stars dance floor, as she has been performing on the show since it began airing in 2004. During the first season, she was paired with boxer Evander Holyfield , and ultimately placed fifth. For the second season, she danced with actor George Hamilton , but still came out in fifth place. She had better luck in season 3 with actor Joey Lawrence , as they were able to finish third. In 2007, she competed against her then-fianc?, Alec Mazo, on the fourth season and fifth seasons of Dancing with the Stars. For the fourth season, she was paired with actor John Ratzenberger , and the duo finished sixth. For the fifth season, Sliwinska was partnered with soap star Cameron Mathison; finishing fifth.
On season 6, Sliwinska is paired with NFL star Jason Taylor achieving her by far best result with a runner-up finish. The pair got a perfect score on their third dance in the final dance-off. The next season, however, saw the old Sliwinska luck back, with partner comedian Jeffrey Ross and she being eliminated first.

My favorite dance is Rumba. It is very sophisticated and sexy at the same time. It requires a lot of sensuality and control. Also you have to react off of your partner more than in any other dance. Without relationship between the partners rumba becomes boring and looks fake. And I don't mean that you have to be in love with your partner in your private life to dance great Rumba. You just, as in acting have to use your imagination and act "as if" you were in love.
