I have to say that over all I did not like the Franklin storyline. I do, however, commend the makers of True Blood for finally recognizing how serious it really was, for their final, uncompromising portrayal of it and for finally conveying that what happened to Tara was neither romantic nor sexy. All though the season they played the Franklin/Tara storyline for laughs. Yes, I confess I enjoyed it. Franklin's twisted take on relationships was funny, charming and sweet in a creepy way. James Frain is a superb actor to be able to make a monster like Franklin seem appealing. But this take on the events did the story--and we the viewers--a serious disservice. What Franklin did to Tara was NOT funny at all. It wasn't charming. It wasn't romantic. It wasn't sexy. He abducted Tara. He raped her. He terrorized her for days. He annoumced his intention to kill her in order to make her his sex slave forever. Overall, Tara's experience was worse than Lafayette's in Eric's basement--and we saw what that did to Lafayette. Kudoes to Rutina for brilliantly portraying a woman fighting for her life and dealing with the trauma afterward. Bravo to True Blood for allowing Jason to mete out justice to Franklin Mott, kidnapper, rapist, serial killer.
