You know how you get a diploma when you graduate from high school. Well when someone (for whatever reasons) drops out of school that can take a test and get what is called a General Education Diploma (GED). It is suppose to be the equivalent of a high school diploma, but what it really does is scream I dropped out of high school. I know this because I have one.

Your's sounds better than ours. When you say GED in the U.S. people automatically look down on you hence the doctor saying it in a condesending tone.

Karen if it makes u feel any better over here we don't worry about those things, It is only of concern when u are applying for a job and then it depends on the job u r going for.
