Football helmet concussion syndrome

Recently saw your information on the subject and think anyone outside football questioning this is a good thing. I've seen some former players have advocated going back to the old school leather model, well almost. My proposal, and I can't understand why this is such an elusive concept is to change the external surface as opposed to the current obsession with interior padding. If instead we look at softening the exterior similar to shoulder pads or even looking into airbag type solutions with the hit diffusing the energy only to be reinflated. I hope you are able to realize like I that a hard helmet is a fierce weapon in football and removing that advantage effectively eliminates the problem all together. Thank you, Mark Allen
