Final Six?

Can someone tell me why there's a final six instead of final four as in past seasons? I can't figure it out. Thanks for your help!

while FOX hasn't made an official announcement I believe they are having a final six finale because of the holidays. If they waited for the final four the finale would be the day before Christmas Eve, which would cut down on press time, interview opportunities, and viewership. If they tried to postpone that for another week they would run into the same issue with New Years.

Fsfan-I think Abbey did a good job of explaining it..it has to do with timing and right up to the day before Christmas Eve. I agree with Abbey, It would have been better to just pick up after New Years and finish off the season.
