Hello, Sorry, this is not concerning cooking - my brother saw you on Top Masters Chef and was amazed when he saw your last name. We are originally from Sweden, Visback, dating back to 1858. I'm not sure of the relationship, but I think it was our great-great grandfather's name was Eric Noren, a soldier. His wife(Caisa Carlsdotter)and he had a baby boy, named Lars Olof. Lars Olof Noren immigrated to Canada. For whatever reason, he changed his last name to Noren - Munk;later it was changed to Mounk in Canada, which is the family name we now have. My grandparents came right from Sweden, spoke Swedish - however their name was Mounk then as well. My grandfather's name was Ludvig, with 2 brothers Gottfrid & Gustav. The Noren/Munk family came to Canada in 1906.The place Moklinta also appears in our history. Some Norens in Sweden and Mounks in Canada were able to connect over the years, but has been lost now. My mother and father have died( my dad was the 2nd youngest of 7, Louis was his father), but there are family pictures in the album I have with some Noren/Munk names - AnnaMunk/Mounk, Helmer Noren, Johanna Noren, Jan Gustaf Noren, etc. I have a family tree, dating back to 1846. At the end of the album are letters, written in Swedish - none of us can read them. I know this is irregular for an email, but would appreciate any reply. My brother, who is 58, went through Culinary College in Ontario, is a cook and was so surprised when he watched the show and saw your name. Sincerely, Mrs. Lenora Taylor(nee Noren/Munk/Mounk)
