I was Director of the NEH funding program that provided all of the funds for the production of "Heartland." It was an activity of which I continue to be extremely proud. Conchata Ferrell was superb in this feature, opposite Rip Torn. Some 32 years after first showing it is now being shown on the Showcase Cable channel. Hooray for bringing back one of those features that never ages and is truer than most about the West.
