I've only seen a few of the BBC Being Human episodes, but it seems like the changes being made to the story for SyFy are improvements. With more episodes in the U.S. season, maybe they have more time to re-think the plots. Did they really leave the boy vampire alive to live with his mom at BBC?! I hope I missed something, there. What do you think of the changes?

They are indeed improvements. The US version brought more depth to the characters and the lore of the beings which was intentional.
