Three More Join the Cast of 'Days of our Lives'

June 23, 2009

Last week, BuddyTV reported that Emmy winner Crystal Chappell is joining Days of our Lives to reprise her role as Dr. Carly Manning Alamain beginning October. But even before that happens, Salem will be a little more crowded as three more will join the cast of the NBC soap.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Catherine Wadkins, who was last seen as crazed widow Mary Bishop ---the widow of Connor Bishop who brainwashed Nikolas Cassadine after a car accident and killed Sage Alcazar and Trent Parker in the Quartermaine mansion on General Hospital, will be returning to the daytime circuit to portray yet another crazed widow. This time, she's slated to appear on Days of Our Lives on August 3 and 4, after her character's husband, Carlo, turns up dead. She will reportedly share scenes with Jay Kenneth Johnson's Philip.

'Guiding Light' Star Set to Return on 'Days of our Lives'

June 16, 2009

If there's no future for Guiding Light, fans can still catch Emmy winner Crystal Chappell as she finds another home on NBC. TV Guide Magazine reports that the 43-year-old actress has signed on to rejoin the cast of Days of our Lives to reprise her role as Dr. Carly Manning Alamain.

Dr. Carly Manning Alamain, who appeared on the show from June 1990 to October 1993, was considered front-burner for most of Chappell's time on Days of our Lives. She was featured in a romantic plot with lead character Bo Brady (Peter Reckell, Robert Kelker-Kelly), and in a complicated Byzantine storyline that featured her unknown secret identity as a European blueblood. Her story wrapped up in a controversial plot that had Carly buried alive by Vivian (Louise Sorel). Consequently, Chappell left after difficult contact negotiations and differences with head writer James E. Reilly.

Former 'Days of Our Lives' Star Wesley Eure Returns in "Land of the Lost"

May 25, 2009

As Michael Horton, Jr. on Days of Our Lives, actor Wesley Eure has gained his fair share of popularity.  However, he is also known for his work in the children's adventure series Land of the Lost.  The 1974 show was produced by Sid and Marty Krofft, earning its place in history as it ran for three seasons on NBC.

Since it seems as though we're living in the age of comebacks, the cult-classic Land of the Lost has been picked up to become a film.  Production began last year, and it's set to be released next month.  Two of the show's original stars - Wesley Eure and Kathy Coleman - have been tapped for cameos in the big screen version.
