American actor David Arquette was born in Winchester, Virginia on September 8, 1971. He started his acting career in 1990, playing the role of Two-Bit Matthews in the mini-series The Outsiders. His first film was in 1992, in the independent release Halfway House. He made numerous appearances, in films such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grey Knight, The Road Killers and Airheads, and in television programs such as Beverly Hills 90210, Rebel Highway and Double Rush.
In 1996, Arquette shot to fame with his role as dopey police officer Dewey Riley in the slasher horror Scream. He would reprise the role in the succeeding sequels, released in 1997 and 2000 respectively. It is also here where he met his future wife, Courteney Cox. After shooting the 2000 wrestling film Ready to Rumble, Arquette joined the WCW as a wrestler, at one point holding the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, although his appearances were mostly as comic relief.
His stint as a professional wrestler was short-lived; it lasted less than a year. He quickly resumed his film career, appearing in films such as 3000 Miles to Graceland, See Spot Run, Eight Legged Freaks and A Foreign Affair. He appeared in a Coca-Cola commercial with her wife Cox in 2003, and together they executive produced two television programs: the 2005 hybrid reality/comedy show Daisy Does America, which starred British comedian Daisy Donovan living the American dream; and the 2007 television series Dirt, about a “glossy tabloid” editor (Cox) and her work around celebrities and paparazzi.
Arquette recently appeared in the short-lived television series In Case of Emergency, a comedy about six people in high school whose lives did not turn out the way they expected. He played the role of Jason Ventress, the man who was voted most likely to succeed in high school.
