United States of Tara Caption Contest Rules and Regulations

Effective January 8th, 2009

The BuddyTV Contest (the "Contest") allows participants to qualify to win Prizes by participating in the BuddyTV United States of Tara Caption Contest. Every Giveaway is subject to these Official Rules except as expressly stated otherwise. No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase or payment will not increase your chances of winning. This Contest is sponsored by BuddyTV 190 Queen Anne Ave Ste 280 Seattle, WA 98109.

1. Eligibility: The Contest is open to residents of the United States who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the Contest start date and have an Internet connection. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Void where prohibited. Participant's computer must accept cookies or any similar device used by BuddyTV to track entries. See BuddyTV's Privacy Policy for more information about Cookies. Participants must be registered members of BuddyTV.com.
2. Contest Entry: To enter the Contest, access the BuddyTV website at http://www.BuddyTV.com/ and click on BuddyTV United States of Tara Caption Contest. Participants can then follow directions and submit their entry or entries.
3. Obscenity: BuddyTV reserves the right to reject any entries considered to be offensive. This can include but is not limited to racism, sexism, swearing, homophobia, and ageism. BuddyTV will not accept any disputes to the removal of entries once deemed inappropriate by the Board of Judges.
4. How to Enter: Each entry can be voted on by other users on a star scale of one (1) to five (5). At the end of the contest, the Top 10 captions will be determined by the number of total stars: specifically, the number of ratings multiplied by the average star ratings. Only one (1) entry per user will be allowed in the Top 10. If a user qualified for multiple entries into the Top 10, their best-rated entry will be accepted. The next highest rated user entries will fill the remaining spots.
5. How to Win: The BuddyTV Board of Judges will pick the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners out of the Top 10. All decisions are final.
6. Contest Period: Midnight Jan 8th through midnight Jan 18th.
7. Winner Selection: BuddyTV will pick all three (3) prizewinners. All decisions are final and binding. The number of eligible entries received will determine odds of winning. Winners will be notified by email within 14 days of the drawing and must claim their prize by email within 14 days of that notification by replying to the email notification with their current postal address. Prize will be mailed within 21 days of receipt of prizewinner's claim. Advanced Media Research Group, Inc. is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winner. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize within 1 month of notification, prize may awarded to another randomly selected winner. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email account. All personally identifiable information submitted by any Winner to claim a Prize is subject to BuddyTV's Privacy Policy.
8. a. Two (2) Winning Prizes: A Showtime prize bag which includes: Dexter season 2, Penn & Teller: BS! season 5, Californication season 1, The L Word season 5, The Tudors season 1, an I Love Dexter T-shirt, Dexter 2009 calendar, Showtime air freshener, Weeds Grow a Plant Kit, Secret Diary of a Call Girl Diary, and a Showtime tote bag.
9. Winner Verification; Prize Receipt. Winner may be required to show verifiable proof of legitimate search and entitlement to win and to sign an affidavit of eligibility and publicity release in order to claim their Prize. If winner has not received prize within six weeks after the end of the relevant Contestal Period, you must notify us by faxing to 707-598-4810. Failure to notify us of non-receipt within eight weeks after the end of the Contestal Period will result in forfeiture of the Prize.
10. Publicity. Participation constitutes consent to use of Winner's name, likeness and address (city, state) for Contest purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.
11. General Terms and Conditions. Any Giveaway may be canceled, suspended and/or modified, in whole or in part, if in our opinion any fraud, technical failure or other factor beyond our control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest. BuddyTV is not responsible for computer malfunctions, network connections, email delivery problems, systems failure or incompatibility, typographical, technical or keystroke errors, or interruptions in your Internet service.
12. Prize exceptions: We may make alternative Contest presentations of Prizes, combine Prizes or substitute a Prize with another of comparable or greater value. (For example, a $10 Prize may be offered or fulfilled as cash, a gift card or merchandise of comparable value.) No other cash option for, or substitution, assignment or transfer of, any Prize is permitted. Winner is responsible for all taxes.
13. Limitations of Liability. If for any reason an entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, the entrant's sole remedy is another entry in the same or a comparable Contest (or, if that is not possible for any reason, in a random drawing from among other eligible entries for any or all of the unclaimed prizes offered in a Giveaway).
14. Disputes. Decisions of the Board of Judges at BuddyTV are final. In the event of a dispute as to any entry, the authorized account holder of the email address used to conduct the entry will be deemed to be the entrant. No claimant in any dispute involving BuddyTV shall be entitled to claim or obtain indirect, punitive, incidental or consequential damages. BuddyTV's failure to enforce any provision in these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase or payment will not increase your chances of winning.
