Chris Pratt was born June 21, 1979 in Virginia, Minnesota. In 2000, while working as a waiter at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Restaurant in Maui, he had a celebrity customer who happened to be actress, Rae Dawn Chong. His forward sense of humor bowled her over and she offered to fly him to Los Angeles to audition for her directorial debut project, Cursed Part 3. Although the movie has yet to be distributed, Pratt credits the experience as the starting point of his acting career. The following year, Pratt landed a part in the pilot for a television series called The Extreme Team. Shot in New Zealand, the project was never picked up by the networks but soon after, Pratt was cast as one of the leads on the series, Everwood.
Bright Abbott, played by Chris Pratt on Everwood, is Amy’s overprotective brother who tried to make life difficult for newcomer, Ephram Brown. Although skilled and gifted as an athlete, Bright is not exactly a star student, but he does have other winning qualities that eventually endear him to others, including the sensitive Ephram.
