American actor Charlie Day was born on February 9, 1976 in New York. He attended Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island and went to Merrimack College in Massachusetts. While there, he was known for playing baseball. He has been seen on a number of television roles, beginning his career in 2000.
After a small part in the television production Mary and Rhonda, Charlie Day took on several roles. He was seen on an episode of Madigan Men, and was later cast as Jeremy on the series Law and Order. His next projects were Late Summer and Campfire Stories, both in 2001, and on Love Thy Neighbor in 2002. Later, he had an uncredited part in Bad Company, and played Richie in the pilot episode of Luis. From 2001 to 2004, Charlie Day rose to fame as Michael Boscorelli on NBC’s Third Watch. The show was a television drama about the adventures of firefighters and police officers in New York City. He followed this up with a role in Reno 911!, and eventually joined the cast of the FX sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Other than playing the role of Charlie Kelly on the show, he has also been credited as an executive producer and a writer. His character Charlie Kelly can be regarded as the loser among his working companions in Paddy's Pub, where he is a co-owner. He is poor, a potential dyslexic, and considerably slow when it comes to learning. He is assigned to do the most disgusting tasks at the bar. Eventually, he will share his sofa-bed with Frank Reynolds, a divorced, middle-aged guy who bought a share of Paddy's.
Charlie Day later got married to his It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-star, Mary Elizabeth Ellis. She also appeared with him on Reno 911! In 2008, Day completed filming A Quiet Little Marriage, where he played the role of Adam.
