The future of ABC's Cashmere Mafia remains to be gloomy due to its low ratings which strongly hint on an unlikely renewal next season.  Regardless of the show's fate, one cast member is expected to linger on the network's circuit. Lucy Liu, who plays publisher Mia Mason on the Sex and the City inspired series, is now in negotiations for a role in the upcoming second season of Dirty Sexy Money.

If all goes well, Liu would become a regular on the drama series, which stars Peter Krause as the attorney for a filthy-rich family in New York.  She would also be working alongside Donald Sutherland, William Baldwin, Natalie Zea, Glenn Fitzgerald, Blair Underwood, Seth Gabel, Zoe McLellan, and Jill Clayburgh.

Perhaps not as easily familiar and recognizable as her fellow Cashmere Mafia co-star, Lucy Liu, but Miranda Otto is no greenhorn in the entertainment business.  The petite actress from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia has paid her dues to get where she is now in her career, not to mention the fact that acting is already in her blood.

This week on ABC's Cashmere Mafia, Juliet (Miranda Otto) toys with the notion of having a steamy encounter.  Meanwhile, Mia (Lucy Liu) goes one on one with a hotshot new magazine editor.  Finally, Zoe (Frances O'Connor) puts her foot down on Clayton's office romance.

Darren Star's post-Sex and the City new series on four powerful, well-dressed career women returns Wednesday with a brand new episode called “Dangerous Liaisons.”

After some 11th-hour schedule re-shuffling, Darren Star's brand-spanking new series, Cashmere Mafia, finally took flight last night. It was originally supposed to debut Thursday, January 3.

Cashmere Mafia marks Darren Star's return vehicle to series showrunning after his highly successful Sex and the City, which finally came to its conclusion in 2004.  The show also offers actress Lucy Liu another chance to further spread her wings and take on a new persona, something she admits to welcoming.

Tom Everett Scott has signed up for a role on ABC's upcoming dramedy, Cashmere Mafia.  The 36-year-old actor is set to play the fiancé and workplace rival of Lucy Liu's character.  He is taking over Timothy Adams (Rescue Me), who played the role in the original pilot.

Cashmere Mafia is centered on four ambitious and sexy women in New York City who have been friends since their days at business school.  In an attempt to successfully balance their demanding careers with their personal lives, and to protect each other, the women decide to set up their very own “boys club.”

From Sex and the City creator Darren Star comes a dramedy series called Cashmere Mafia about four female executives and their support for one another as they go through life’s challenges. Officially picked up as a midseason replacement for its 2007-2008 lineup, ABC has ordered 13 episodes, which will take the Tuesday niche at 9/8C.

Directed by Peyton Reed (The Break-Up) and written by Kevin Wade (Maid in Manhattan), Cashmere Mafia attempts to showcase the complex personal lives of the four thirty something women in their own created “boys club.”
