Michael Westen (Jeffery Donovan) is the ruggedly handsome former covert operative stuck in Miami, Florida which is definitely not where he wants to be. After being burned by his former employers, Michael was dumped in Miami with nothing. All he has now is his family and friends to rely on. This is not an easy task for the self-reliant former spy. Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar), his former girlfriend, is a shoot first ask questions later gal who wants Michael back in her love life. Sam (Bruce Campbell) is Michael's only other friend but he is supposed to keep an eye on Michael for the feds. The final piece in Michael's complicated puzzle is his mother, Madeline (Sharon Gless).
While everyone in Michael's life is happy to have him home in Miami, he wants nothing more than to leave. He is a man on a mission to figure out why he was burned, set it straight, and get back to work ASAP! As he continues on his mission he runs across people in need of his "expertise" and he lends a hand with the help of his friends. While Fiona will choose to shoot first and Sam would always rather be with the ladies, Michael prefers to settle things in the least violent way possible. However, this proves very difficult in the riveting situations he ends up in.
