Born on May 24, 1978 in Omaha, Nebraska, Bryan Greenberg and his family relocated to St. Louis, Missouri when he was twelve years old. His discovered his passion for acting when he was very young, and when he finished high school, he packed his bags and moved to New York City. While there, he attended the New York University as a Theatre major. After earning his degree, he went on to perform in many different productions around the city. He was cast as Romeo in the NYU performance of Romeo and Juliet, but made his small screen debut in an episode of Law & Order in 1997.
Bryan Greenberg has had numerous projects both in television and film. He was seen on episodes of The Sopranos, Third Watch and Strong Medicine, during the early 2000s. He has also been cast on The Chronicle, Providence and Boston Public, before he landed his feature film role of Matty Matthews on the crime comedy The Perfect Score in 2004. However, Greenberg is best known by the viewing public as the hunky basketball player “Jake,” from the WB series One Tree Hill. His other projects include roles in Life with Bonnie, as well as the romantic comedy film Prime, starring Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep. Greenberg has also worked on an HBO series, titled Unscripted, during his time at One Tree Hill. He later worked with Sean Astin in the dramatic comedy Thanks to Gravity, and was cast opposite Alan Rickman on the drama Nobel Son. In 2007, Greenberg joined the cast of the ABC series October Road, playing the lead role of writer Nick Garrett. Greenberg has also been slated to appear alongside Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson on Bride Wars. In addition to acting, the star has also been known for his music. He has released an album titled Waiting for Now, and has been on tour with musicians like Gavin DeGraw, Michelle Branch and Tyler Hilton.
