An Emmy-nominated veteran of numerous television series, Bryan L. Cranston is an accomplished American actor, director and writer. Born on March 7, 1956 in San Fernando Valley, California, he finished college and soon began acting for local theater productions. He got his start at the Granada Theatre in San Francisco Valley, and has been acting ever since. Bryan Cranston worked on a string of minor advertising jobs, as well as voice dubbing for Japanese anime and Saban Entertainment’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, even having the Blue Ranger named after him.
Bryan Cranston is best known for playing Hal Wilkerson, the father of the title character in the hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Prior to that, he was cast in a notable number of guest appearances. He was given the role of astronaut Buzz Aldrin in the HBO series From the Earth to the Moon, and was another astronaut in the film That Thing You Do! His other films include the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Twas the Night and the Steven Speilberg film Saving Private Ryan. He gained a following for playing the dentist Dr. Tim Whatley on the sitcom Seinfeld, and has had a recurring role on the CBS sitcom The King of Queens. He has also been credited for directing several episodes of Malcolm in the Middle, and has written and directed the 1999 movie Last Chance. He was seen alongside Greg Kinnear on the film Little Miss Sunshine and worked with Malcolm in the Middle co-star Christopher Masterson on the independent feature Intellectual Property. Cranston was also in the comedy Hard Four, and has had several guest appearances in shows throughout his career. He was in The Flash, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, an episode of The X Files, Babylon 5 and the comedy How I Met Your Mother. He soon joined the cast of the AMC series Breaking Bad, playing the high school chemistry teacher Walter H. White. Cranston has also voiced characters on the animated series American Dad! and Lilo & Stitch: The Series.
