The 3-D Disney fantasy, co-starring Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway, now boasts a $208.6 million (?130.4 million) two-week total.
Following at number two is Matt Damon's war thriller Green Zone, which debuted with $14.5 million (?9.1 million) in earnings.
Jay Baruchel's romantic comedy She's Out of My League came in at number three with $9.6 million (?6 million), followed by Twilight star Robert Pattinson and Lost's Emilie de Ravin's romantic drama Remember Me, sitting at number four with $8.3 million (?5.2 million).
