American actor Blake Shields was born in Ithaca, New York and spent most of his childhood traveling the world with his family. They finally settled down in Israel, but later returned to the United States as a precocious and cultured youth. Upon his arrival, he devoted much of his time and passion to the stage. He became part of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival and the theater group Washington Street Players. He later starred in major productions while there, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Hamlet.
During the 1990s, Shields began his professional television career with a role in Silk Stalkings. He also appeared in Pensacola: Wings of Gold, The West Wing and Boy Meets World. In 2000, he got the part of Moznick in Crime and Punishment in Suburbia before getting a role in an episode of Freaks and Geeks. Also that year, he filmed his first widely released feature film. This was Boys and Girls, which starred Freddie Prinze Jr. The next year, Shields got a role in New Port South, then got featured in Undeclared, JAG and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He was next seen on Cold Case, Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and the video movie The Hollow. He later joined the cast of Carnivale as a series regular, portraying the character Osgood. He also became a part of the regular cast of Sleeper Cell, and was a guest star in Veronica Mars, Crossing Jordan and The Closer. Since 2007, he played Jeff ‘Glue Boy’ Golden in the FOX series K-Ville. Jeff is a wisecracking cop who is part of NOPD's Felony Action Squad headed by Captain James Embry. The unit's mission is to hunt down and capture the most-wanted criminals from the remains of the New Orleans town destroyed by the hurricane Katrina. Jeff is the team's comic relief, often putting a smile on everyone's faces after a tough day on the job.
After appearing on the Bones episode “The He in the She,” Blake Shields took on the role of Flint on the hit NBC series Heroes.
