Originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Berto Colon moved to New York City when he was 15. He went to Lehman High School and then to Fordham University on a football scholarship. A knee injury, however, ended his football career. He said he was not really keen on wearing a suit to work so he decided to pursue what he said was his true calling, acting. After studying for another six years, he started to go on auditions. Berto Colon said it was not easy at first but he eventually got a few callbacks and gigs. He went on to appear in several off-Broadway productions, four feature films, and a few commercials. He lists acting, traveling, and surfing as his interests. He currently manages a bar in New York City.
