Born on December 16, 1963 in San Francisco, California, Benjamin Bratt is perhaps best known for his role on the television series Law and Order. He has more popular films under his belt, such as Miss Congeniality, Blood in Blood out, and Traffic, but his stint on Law and Order earned him an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Acton in a Drama Series.
The son of a nurse and a sheet metal worker, Bratt is of primarily German and English descent. He attended Lowell High School where he developed his theater and rama skills as part of the Lowell Forensic Society. He went on to earn a degree from University of California in Santa Barbara where he also became a member of a fraternity. As an MFA student at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, Bratt left before receiving his degree for a chance to star in a television series that did not air.
Benjamin Bratt briefly dated Julia Roberts for three years, before marrying another actress Talisa Soto in 2003. They have two kids.
