It’s been a rough year watching Britney Spears go down the tubes but at least we had her little sister to have faith in. That is, until today. The rumors have been swirling for weeks and have finally been confirmed: At the tender age of 16, Jamie-Lynn Spears is pregnant. The current issue of OK magazine, which hits stands tomorrow, features a six-page interview with Jamie-Lynn and her mother, discussing the pregnancy. According to TMZ, Britney didn’t even know until the news broke online. Ouch!

The most ironic part of the story is that the father, Casey Aldridge, is a boy Spears met at church! She is reportedly 12 weeks pregnant and Aldrige’s mother confirmed this to TMZ. In her interview with OK magazine, Spears actually tries to say that she doesn’t think premarital sex is right. However, she went on to say: “I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in."

Jamie-Lynn Spears is the star of the Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101, and there isn’t any word about her fate with the network. They released this statement yesterday: "We respect Jamie-Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

Lynn Spears was in the middle of writing a book but has taken time off indefinitely. "We are standing behind Lynn at this time and understand that she needs time with her family,” a spokesperson for the publishing company said. Britney and her mother have been estranged for quite some time though she has remained close with her sister. Not close enough, since Jamie-Lynn felt more comfortable telling the world before her own sister. Is there any hope for the Spears family?
