Amidst all the controversies and hateful rumors of family turmoil following Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancy, the 16-year-old Zoey 101 star has received support from an unexpected source: Kevin Federline.

Sources close to the Spears and Federline families have revealed exclusively to OK! magazine that Kevin Federline, who was married to Jamie Lynn's sister Britney, has reached out to his former sister-in-law and her mother Lynne as they face the ordeal of being in the scandal spotlight.  The news comes as a surprise given that Federline was recently embroiled in a nasty custody battle with the troubled pop star, whose sole custody of her two sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, have now been awarded to the rapper turned actor.

"Kevin has long thought of Jamie Lynn as a little sister," a Federline family member revealed.

Federline reportedly spoke with Lynne before the baby news dropped and, according to the source, "he was heartbroken because he was concerned about what it would mean for Jamie Lynn's future" and “just wants to be part of the support system."

Federline's support comes at a time the Zoey actress needs it most.  Though Spears already broke her silence with an exclusive interview with OK! magazine, gossip surrounding her pregnancy hasn't stop since then.

Shortly after she revealed to the world that she was expecting, the status of Spears' relationship with her unborn child's 18-year-old father, Casey Aldridge, became the subject of the news, along with issues of cheating, statutory rape, and the unborn child's paternity.  The most recent internet rumor to date is that the Zoey star suffered a miscarriage, which was denied by Spears' publicist.

"Contrary to rumors, Jamie Lynn Spears has not been rushed to the hospital, nor has she suffered a miscarriage.  She is healthy and at home with her mother," Spears' publicist told ET.
