'Zoey 101' Star Earns Her GED
Pregnant teen star Jamie Lynn Spears has earned her GED, which is no small feat considering the crazy and often harrowing media attention she has been getting since she announced her pregnancy in December.  The news of the Zoey 101 actress' recent academic accomplishment was relayed by a family friend to People magazine.

The pal also told the entertainment mag that Spears, who plays the title character in Zoey 101, is even thinking about going to college and planning to take the ACT college entrance test.

"She's already got her diploma," the friend told People.  "She wants to take her ACT.  She's not wasting any time.  People don't know her.  When she gets something in her head, she'll make it happen.  Everybody is so supportive of her."

Last month, Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of troubled pop star Britney Spears, was seen in Hammond, Louisiana carrying a GED book.  Mom Lynne Spears accompanied her outside a building where the Tangipahoa Parish School System Adult Education Center, a GED preparation site, and the Title I Parent Center, which teaches parents how to help their children develop learning skills, are located.

The Zoey 101 star previously attended Parklane Academy, a prestigious school in McComb, Mississippi that she went to on-and-off for years as a result of her filming schedule. Spears enrolled at the school full time just before last Thanksgiving, saying that filming for the show had been completed.  After the holiday, however, she informed the school that she was needed back in Los Angeles.  A school staffer told People that if the actress had attempted to stay, she would have been expelled anyway for being pregnant.

Jamie Lynn Spears has clearly moved on since then.  The actress passed her high school equivalency exam about a month ago, earning impressive marks on reading comprehension.  She has expressed interest in attending Louisiana State University, although she has yet to comment on whether she will push through with her plans.
