Jonathan and Rodilyn

Nineteen-year-old Jonathan Silva comes from Los Angeles, California.  He was famous as a gymnast and as a cheerleader during his high school days.  It was on his junior year that he discovered his passion for dancing.  He has since worked on honing his skills by training in ballet, lyrical, jazz, modern and hip-hop.  His favorite among all the styles is lyrical because it allows him to tap into his emotions and tell a good story through movements.

Jonathan was cast for the theater production entitled Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular and was part of Bratz: The Movie and High School Musical 3.  He also danced in some commercials and music videos, aside from working at Disneyland.

Away from the performing world, Jonathan spends his time with his close-knit family and bonds with his sister who is in remission for leukemia.

His mother, Rodilyn Wooldridge, is 39 and lives in Long Beach, California.  She earns a living by working as a hairdresser at a salon located in Formosa Beach.  Rodilyn supports Jonathan's chosen field wholeheartedly.

Jonathan and Rodilyn are one of the ten competing pairs on the Lifetime TV reality series Your Mama Don't Dance.  Dubbed as the dance competition with a twist, contestants on the show auditioned without knowing that their dancing partners would be their very own parents.  Five male contestants and five female contestants would foxtrot and mambo with their mothers and fathers as they compete to win the title and the $100,000 cash prize.  Rodilyn has never danced but she is happy that she gets the chance to go onstage with her son as she believes this is her only chance to do so.  Jonathan says that the best part about being partnered with his mom is the fact that they have chemistry and they don't feel awkward towards each other.
