Jennifer Lopez will continue dominating the entertainment world in 2018. NBC has announced that it is renewing the music superstar's dance competition series World of Dance
for a second season.
This news comes as the show, which sees elite dancers from around the world compete for a $1 million prize, is only halfway through airing season 1.

In a statement, Lopez said, "I am so proud to not only star but produce a show that is so close to my heart. I am so happy that World of Dance
has resonated with audiences and we are able to put dancers on the pedestal they deserve. I cannot wait to continue this journey and my partnership with NBC."
World of Dance
started strong right out the gate, with 9.71 million viewers tuning in to the series premiere and the season so far averaging 8.3 million viewers. It is the number one new show this summer and, overall, is the second highest-rated show this summer.
It certainly helps that Dance
is airing every week after America's Got Talent
, the highest-rated summer series.

Not only is World of Dance
executive produced by Lopez, but she's also one of the judges with Dancing with the Stars
alum Derek Hough and singer Ne-Yo. Jenna Dewan-Tatum is the host. It is unclear at this point who will be returning for season 2.
This isn't Lopez's only NBC show. She also stars in and executive produces the cop drama Shades of Blue
, which will air its 3rd season in 2018.
