Aside from the inclusion of favorite
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and
Angel stalwart,
James Marsters, in the upcoming new season of
Without a Trace, we now have two more things to watch out for upon the show's return.
First up, series star,
Poppy Montgomery will bring her real life pregnancy onto the series. Writers and execs of the highly rated FBI drama have decided to incorporate Montgomery's condition into the show.

Off screen, the 35-year old actress is happily awaiting the birth of her and boyfriend, Adam Kaufman's first child sometime in December. On
Without a Trace, Montgomery's character, Samantha “Sam” Spade, will provide one of the season's more intriguing storylines surrounding the identity of her baby's father.
In the past, agent Spade has been involved with her superior Jack Malone, played by fellow Australian,
Anthony LaPaglia, as well as her colleague Martin Fitzgerald, portrayed by
Eric Close. The soon-to-be mom is keeping mum on who the father of her child is.
“I have to bite my tongue because I'm busting to tell everybody,” Montgomery told
TV Guide. “There are a number of people in the mix. I think it'll be quite surprising.”
Could the father be someone other than either Jack or Martin? It looks like we'll all have to tune in to
Without a Trace's sixth season to find out.
Besides the paternity question, the expectant Spade will also struggle with her usual fare of dangerous and potentially fatal scenarios. What has become perfunctory and commonplace for agents like her will become more difficult and perilous because of her pregnancy.
“Every time she goes to work, she's potentially at risk for being killed,” Montgomery commented. “It's a hard decision to make.”
In other news, Henry Thomas, best known as
E.T.'s young friend, Elliott, from the landmark Steven Spielberg film, will guest star on
Without a Trace's new season. Thomas will portray Jack Malone's adversary in his first ever major television series appearance.
