Tuesday, February 28, 2012
Beware, trolls, because Charlie Sheen is returning to TV this summer. FX
has revealed its summer schedule, and a big night of comedy on Thursday
nights will begin with Sheen's new comedy, a TV adaptation of the film Anger Management, on Thursday, June 28 at 9pm.
The new comedy, co-starring Selma Blair, sees Sheen taking on the Jack Nicholson role as an unconventional anger management therapist. The show will get an hour-long premiere, but the following week new episodes will air regularly at 9:30pm, preceded by repeats of the previous episode.
FX will continue its big Thursday night comedy lineup on June 28 at 10pm with season 2 of Wilfred, the Elijah Wood comedy about a man whose best friend is a dog who he sees as a man in a dog suit. The second season premiere will feature a guest appearance by Robin Williams.
Louis C.K.'s Emmy-nominated comedy Louie will return for its third season at 10:30pm.
FX's trio of sitcoms will be topped off with the premiere of Russell Brand's late night show Strangely Uplifting at 11pm, though the network has only ordered six episodes.
So get ready for a busy Thursday night this summer as the former star of Two and a Half Men headlines two and a half hours of comedy.
