Did you know that Sarah Jessica Parker is a descendant of the brood accused of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials? Did you know that her ancestors were involved in two major American events?
You would, if you caught the premiere episode of Who Do You Think You Are? NBC's adaptation of the BBC series that features a celebrity and the kind of stuff his or her family had been in throughout history. The genealogical investigation is at the center of the NBC reality series and traces familial roots, complete with the flair and exaggerated storytelling of the genre.
Other stars who have taken the plunge include football star Emmitt Smith, Lisa Kudrow, also the show's producer, SJP hubby Matthew Broderick, Brooke Shields, Susan Sarandon and Spile Lee.

alum said it's a reminder of how connected everyone is at the end of the day.
