FOX attempts to take viewers to a world where women make all the decisions and men become their obedient subjects with one of its latest offerings for 2008. Slated for the network's primetime programming lineup,
When Women Rule the World is an upcoming reality series that explores a man and woman's ability to adapt to a new social order as gender roles are turned upside down.
Set in a primitive and remote location,
When Women Rule the World features a group of strong, educated and independent women as they call the shots over a group of unsuspecting men. Participants consisting of 12 men and 12 women will be brought together to form a newly created society where the men will be forced to be completely subservient to the women. Similar to CBS'
Survivor, participants will have to compete for living accommodations like shelter, water and heat. And since women are put in charge, they get to vote off one man per week until one last man is standing. The last man left will be awarded $250,000 but in order to win, the he must accede to the women's every demand.
Tagged by the network as a “social experiment and not a sexual experiment,” the show reveals each gender's reaction as they are put to the test to determine if women can really effectively rule the world, and who will be man enough to succeed in the new social order.
This 11-episode unscripted series is produced by Charles Duncombe, Chris Cowan and Jean Michel-Michenaud, along with Rocket Science Laboratories, the the reality TV production company behind previous Fox programs like T
emptation Island, Married By America, Joe Millionaire, and
My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.
When Women Rule the World is expected to premiere on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 8pm ET/PT on FOX.
