Jennie Garth on What I Like About You
American actress Jennifer “Jennie” Garth was born on April 3, 1972 in Urbana, Illinois. She grew up on a horse ranch with six older siblings, and took up modeling and dancing lessons as a teenager. Eventually moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, her breakout role was as female lead character Kelly Taylor on the primetime soap opera Beverly Hills 90210. Jennifer Garth later co-starred with Amanda Bynes in the sitcom What I Like About You. She’s also a vegetarian, and fluent in Italian.
Valerie Tyler is played by Jennifer Garth in the WB’s TV comedy What I Like About You. A precise and exacting individual who meticulously plans everything in her life, her world is turned upside down once her younger sister Holly starts to live with her. Val works as a public relations agent, but later on buys and owns a bakery. She also goes through a number of boyfriends, including her old high school flame Rick and her old boss Vic. Valerie keeps looking out for Holly and giving her advice, even when her younger sister drives her nuts.
