While the fourth season of
Weeds is well underway, one of the stars of the popular Showtime series has been tending to some hosting and guest appearances.
Kevin Nealon, who plays Doug Wilson in Showtime’s
Weeds, recently appeared at the Marriott City Center in Minneapolis to be part of the third annual John T. Petters Foundation Legacy Gala, which had a Barcelona theme this year. The foundation, which supports the advancement of educational experiences for students by providing scholarships abroad, was founded by Petters Group CEO Tom Petters, and is dedicated to his late son who passed away in Florence, Italy at the age of 21.
Kevin Nealon served as the event’s marquee entertainer. Other guests included actor Christopher McDonald, Starkey Laboratories CEO Bill Austin, real estate mogul Ralph Burnet and Petters executive Mary Jeffries.
Meanwhile, Nealon is also set to host a new TBS special entitled
World’s Funniest Commercials. The hour-long special will debut on Tuesday, August 26 at 9pm, and will also be co-hosted by Nealon’s wife, actress Susan Yeagley. Joining the couple is Olympian Scott Hamilton, who is set to announce the gold medal winner amongst the funniest commercials gathered by TBS from around the globe.
Additionally, TBS’ broadband site
VeryFunnyAds.com will take part of this special by featuring a collection of commercials from all around the world. This year’s World’s Funniest Commercials is the ninth such special that TBS has released. The special debuted in December 2004, with the Funniest Commercials of the Year.
Kevin Nealon is best known as a cast member of Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1995. He also appeared in critically acclaimed shows such as
