'Weeds' Star Posed Naked for Publicity Photo

The return of Weeds season 3, which premiered on August 13, came with an eye-catching publicity photo featuring its lead star Mary-Louise Parker.  While posing naked may be an issue for some celebrities, for the 43-year-old actress, however, it was not a big deal. In fact, she was even more bothered that her photo partner that came in the form of a snake.

"I didn't think I was going to do it actually," Parker told AP Radio News in a recent interview.  "But then, they were there and the snake was there, and I didn't want the snake to win, so I put the snake on…And actually, I grew to really love the snake - by the end of the day."

“I've been naked quite a bit, actually,” Parker added.  “You Google me, you'll see it all.”

Parker, who posed with the snake over her shoulder and down her back, stars as Nancy Botwin on the offbeat comedy Weeds.  She plays a widowed mother who starts selling marijuana to support her family in an affluent, fictional suburb of Los Angeles, California.

Weeds, which airs every Monday at 10pm ET/PT on Showtime, also stars Kevin Nealon (Doug Wilson), Elizabeth Perkins (Celia Hodes) and Alexander Gould (Shane Botwin).

Meanwhile, Weeds season 3  will be featuring some new faces.  Newcomer Matthew Modine will appear in 10 out of 15 episodes as Sullivan as a real estate developer, while Mary-Kate Olsen will be appearing in 10 out of 15 episodes, marking her first major solo role separate from twin sister Ashley.  She will be playing a devout Christian girl named Tara who moves into the neighboring mega-church community of Majestic, and who will become a love interest of Silas Botwin (Hunter Parrish).

Cameos will also be made by Zooey Deschanel as Kat and Carrie Fisher as Arlene, the divorce attorney of Celia.
