'W.' Minor Player in Critical Condition After Stabbing
A popular local news anchor who also had a minor role in Oliver Stone’s latest biopic W. was in critical condition after being stabbed in her home.  Anne Pressly, 26, was found by her mother at her home on early Monday morning unconscious after being beaten and severely stabbed.  Initial investigation presumes that the television journalist, who works for a television station in Little Rock, Arkansas, was hurt because of a robbery attempt, as her purse was found missing.

Pressly briefly appeared in W., playing the role of a conservative television commentator who talks positively about George W. Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” speech at an aircraft carrier months after the start of the Iraq war.  She earned this role after the film’s casting director noticed her, after she visited Shreveport, Louisiana—where W. was being shot—to work on a news story.  Police would not give more specifics on their investigation, and Pressly’s family would not give comment.
