Born on November 29, 1974 in Old Tappan, New Jersey, P.J. Byrne was educated at Boston College, where he graduated with a double major in Finance and Theater. He later received his master's degree in fine arts from the Theatre School at DePaul University. Pursuing his acting career, he appeared as a guest star on various television series such as

Boston Legal . As for film, Byrne has appeared on Be Kind Rewind, First Sunday, Evan Almighty, Fun with Dick and Jane and Bruce Almighty. He is also set to appear opposite Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in the film Charlie Wilson's War. Byrne is most known for his recurring role as Irv Goldman Sachs on the sitcom,
