Roseny Carrero was born on June 27, 1984 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. From a young age, she learned a lot about responsibility through watching her mom who single-handedly raised her and her two brothers. Roseny sees her mom as her hero.
Even during her childhood days, Roseny already dreamt of becoming a famous actress and a supermodel. She was often seen dressing up and reenacting scenes from movies she liked.
When Roseny Carrero turned eight, the family moved to the U.S. and she had a hard time adjusting to her new environment. Not only was she unfamiliar with the language, the culture was new to her too. In three months, she learned English and began to fit in her new world.
Roseny performed in school plays and was often chosen for lead roles. In pursuit of her dreams, she relocated to Los Angeles and immediately landed runway shows, national print ads and commercials.
Her list of favorite movies include The Notebook, Vanilla Sky, Closer, Memoirs of a Geisha, What Dreams May Come and Dumb & Dumber. She also enjoys watching TV shows Will & Grace, Sex and the City, The Wonder Years, Entourage and The Sopranos.
Roseny Carrero is one of the 12 contestants on VH1’s reality TV talent search Viva Hollywood, a competition that brings together aspiring Latino actors and pits them against each other in challenges that will help them prove that they are “America’s Numero Uno Telenovela Star.” The aspirants are flown in to Los Angles and they live together in one house. The winner gets a Hollywood prize package which includes a contract with Telemundo, U.S.’ biggest telenovela production company.
