Michael Muhney, best remembered as Sheriff Don Lamb on the cancelled
Veronica Mars, certainly has his hands full with several key projects both on the big and small screens. Most recently, he just signed on to play one of the leads in a new Lifetime series. Muhney joins veteran actors Beau Bridges and Anne Archer on the legal drama,
Family Practice.
Family Practice is a new pilot from Sony Pictures TV and Jeffrey Lieber, co-creator of the highly popular
Lost.

Yay for the Sheriff!!!
--Muhney's Slave Girl
The story centers on a young woman, played by Joey Honsa (
Prison Break,
Criminal Minds), who gets involved with a member of the wealthy and prominent Kinglare family. The Kinglares run one of Chicago's most prestigious and pre-eminent legal firms.
Michael Muhney essays the role of Kent, the youngest member of the Kinglare dynasty. In an effort to extricate himself from his domineering family, Kent gives up the chance to work in their high profile company and chooses instead to become a public defender.
The
Family Practice pilot commenced filming in Chicago this month, with Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winner Beau Bridges cast as the family patriarch, William Kinglare. Anne Archer stars as formidable pro bono attorney, Helena Kinglare, while Karin Anglin plays Michael's sister who also happens to be a lawyer with their family firm.
Aside from
Family Practice, the former
Veronica Mars star has also just completed
No Man's Land, which is a sequel to the 2005 horror flick,
Reeker.
No Man's Land follows the story of Sheriff Reed, played by Robert Pine (
CHiPs,
Black Scorpion,
The Bold and the Beautiful) and his son Harris, played by Muhney. Father and son go after a band of casino robbers only to discover that all of them are being pursued by something else.
Another upcoming film for the busy
Veronica Mars stalwart is the star-studded
Columbus Day. Muhney is in excellent company with veteran movie star Val Kilmer,
CSI's
Marg Helgenberger and
That `70s Show's Wilmer Valderrama.
Columbus Day is produced by Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey's Triggerstreet Productions.
