While all the buzz on Veronica Mars has died down and leave us with a clear vision to start over again, fans are still following any new endeavors from creator Rob Thomas.  Coincidentally, the man behind the hit television series is coming back to work with another endeavor backed by Starz Entertainment.  Titled Party Down, the show consists of ten half-hour episodes which Thomas has created and produced along with John Enbom, Paul Rudd and Dan Etheridge.

Party Down revolves around a group of aspiring Hollywood artists working for a Los Angeles catering company to pay their bills while they try to reach their dreams of becoming celebrities.  Each episode will follow them as they try to fit into the party scenes of a senior singles mixer, a porn awards after-party and a sweet 16 party gone awry, among other things.

"We'll have opportunity for satirical lampooning of whatever subset the party represents as we tell the ongoing stories of our catering crew," Rob Thomas explained.  "If the original British version of 'The Office' was a show about people who have given themselves over completely to the rat race, 'Party Down' is a show about people who have chased the dream for far too long.  We're particularly interested in mining the comedy of what happens as the dream fades."

Moreover, Starz Entertainment executive vice president for programming explains that “Party Down' is a new daringly fresh series that will bring a new style of comedy to Starz.  It further fulfills our mission to produce intelligent, contemporary original series that traditional networks cannot offer.  We are pleased to work with Rob Thomas who brings a unique and visionary style to his productions.  'Party Down' will be the perfect companion show to our hit comedy series 'Head Case.'  These two shows will ensure a dependable destination for fresh, out of the norm comedy entertainment.”

Thomas, who reunites with Veronica Mars' Enbom and Etheridge for Party Down, is also currently working on midseason launch for ABC's Cupid. M eanwhile, Enbom will serve as showrunnoer for Party Down. He also previously worked as a producer on FOX's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
