V's season ender left us with more questions than answers. Because while some characters have boldly revealed where their allegiances lie, others remain on the fence between the Fifth Column and the Visitors, including Ryan, Hobbes and Chad.
In the episode "Red Sky," Ryan seemingly lost his humanity when he found out that his fiancee Val didn't survive childbirth. Anna immediately offered her bliss to take away Ryan's pain and as a result, Ryan's allegiance to the Fifth Column is now a big mystery. Has Anna really convinced him to join the Visitors? Or is there still some humanity left in him that would make it possible to resist Anna's bliss?
Finale Recap: V is for Victory and Vengeance
Ryan's portrayer, Morris Chestnut, tells
TV Overmind that his character's downward spiral could go deeper than expected. "I think the one interesting thing about Ryan is that you probably don't know where his allegiances are going to lay. We've known where he's been for most of the season, but I don't think that we are going to be able to continue to know what side he is on."
Which V Character Are You?Hobbes, on the other hand, is yet another character walking on thin ice. And Marcus having leverage on him doesn't exactly put him on everyone's good graces. Even Ryan has his
suspicions on Hobbes and wouldn't be surprised if Hobbes completely turned dark side. The same thing goes for Chad, who seems to be indebted to Anna for curing his aneurysm and for helping his career to soar, though we also know that he's already aware of what the Visitors have been doing to humans in the Live Aboard Program. In an interview with
TV Squad, Chestnut explains that having trust issues is a major theme on V and something that will continue the show heads to its sophomore season. "You really don't know who you can trust, or if there is anybody you can trust. I guess you can trust Erica one hundred percent, but can we really?"

Meanwhile, Chestnut also reveals what he thinks fans can expect from Ryan next season on
V. "I haven't met with the writers and producers to find out where my character is going for next year. I just know that Ryan definitely has to redeem himself for putting Val in jeopardy. So hopefully, it will be a season of redemption for Ryan," he says.
