Shaun Majumder was born on January 29, 1972 in Burlington, Newfoundland to a Canadian mother and an Indian father. He ventured into television as an announcer for the YTV game show Clips, and later hosted the network's morning kids show entitled Brain Wash, where he was known as Ed Brainbin. In 2003, he went on to join comedy show This Hour Has 22 Minutes and hosted fifteen episodes of
Just for Laughs . He also became a star of Cendric the Entertainer Presents and appeared on the documentary on aspiring Canadian comics, The Next Big Thing. Majumder has appeared on feature films such as Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, The Ladies Man, Pushing Tin, and Purpose and had a short acting stint on Fox's
24 . This year, he returns to FOX with another series, Unhitched.
Dr. Freddy Sahgal is played by Shaun Majumder in the FOX series Unhitched. Freddy is a successful surgeon who doesn't quite know a thing about women. After his divorce, he finds that he could not make it alone, thus turning to his three friends who also have recently separated from their life partners. The Rules for Starting Over follows four friends as they make it through bachelorhood in their 30's and starting over to finally find the right one.
