has released its summer 2013 plans earlier than usual, and they include
two very big changes to its reality competition Big Brother
. The 15th
season of the voyeuristic series will get an early premiere and change
its regular airing schedule.
Big Brother 15
will premiere Wednesday, June 26 at 9pm on CBS. This is two weeks earlier than every other summer season, which typically begins in the first two weeks of July. The elongated season could mean more houseguests or some other twist that requires more time.
In addition, regular fans of the show are probably curious about the premiere date being a Wednesday. While the show almost always airs on a regular Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday schedule, this year it is being moved around.
The show will air Sundays at 8pm and Tuesdays at 9pm,as usual, but with live eviction shows airing Wednesdays starting on July 3. The first three Wednesday episodes of Big Brother 15
will air at 9pm before moving to 8pm starting on July 17.
The last time Big Brother
did this Tuesday-Wednesday-Sunday format was in season 9, which aired during the spring.Other CBS Summer News
