Straight from the lips of the actress herself, news has surfaced that Ugly Betty's Claire Meade might just start dating again.  According to Judith Light, the hip mommy of fashion editors Daniel (Eric Mabius) and Alexis (Rebecca Romjin) is all set for another round of romance.  With the character having broken up with her ex-husband Bradford (Alan Dale), Claire has been single and is now ready to spark a new flame. 

“We're going to see some stuff about Claire.  Claire has some loneliness problems, some issues,” said the Primetime Emmy-nominated actress.  She was interviewed backstage at the International Emmy Awards ceremony in New York, after she presented the award for Best Actor to David Suchet.  

Returning to the topic of Ugly Betty, she revealed that her character will reveal her complexities now and then.  “She's got a very complicated psyche, so you're going to see some of that coming out.  Maybe she'll start dating again, maybe there's an old flame from a long time ago,” she added, posing an enigma many fans would enjoy guessing. 

Judith Light also remarked on how spectacular Ugly Betty has been going, ever since its conception.  “We're doing wonderfully well,” she noted. 

Light continued to praise the show, stepping into the shoes of viewers to express herself.  “I think people respond to the show what it is - it's real heart and soul of who a person is that they don't necessarily fit in with the rest of the world or what the rest of the world thinks is the right stuff.” 

“They are really the person with the intelligence, and the heart and the integrity, and that's why people respond to it so much.” 

As to the future of Ugly Betty, there's no doubt that things could only go uphill from now.  “I think it'll go to a long time, I really do. We're in our third season now,” she stated.
