'Ugly Betty' Loses a Cast Member, Makes Way for New Love Interest

On the season ender of Ugly Betty, we saw Betty (America Ferrera) picking up the phone to call either Henry (Christopher Gorham) or Gio (Freddy Rodriguez).  While season 3 will certainly give resolution to the romantic cliffhanger that left fans mulling for months as Betty's decision between her two love interests will finally be revealed, her choice might not turn out to be one that viewers had hoped for.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of Betty's love interests has been tapped to star on CBS' midseason drama, which means that he'll be departing the ABC series.

Who will it be?  Read on to find out more.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!!!

Christopher Gorham, who has played America Ferrera's on-screen love interest on Ugly Betty for two seasons, has been cast on Harper's Island, CBS' new horror series.  The casting of the 33-year-old actor marks the first part of an overhaul of the show that began after the network picked it up based on a presentation rather than a full pilot.

Set on an island near Seattle, Harper's Island centers on a group of friends who meet on an island for a destination wedding where are being bumped off one by one.  On the series, Gorham, who is also credited on Popular, Jake 2.0 and Out of Practice, will play the groom at the wedding, who is coincidentally also named Henry.  Angel veteran Jeffrey Bell has been hired to rewrite the first episode, and major recasting is expected to take place as well.

While we already know that Betty is not likely to choose Henry, that doesn't mean that she'll have a happily-ever-after ending with Gio as The Hollywood Reporter reports that Rodriguez isn't expected to have a big presence in the coming season because of a busy film schedule.

On the other hand, fans of Ugly Betty can look forward to a new love interest for Betty in the form of Val Emmich, who has joined the dramedy as a recurring regular.
